Create Lasting Memories for Your Kids While Exercising with the Wii Fit |
The Wii game system has really changed the gaming world. It has revolutionized the way that both kids and adults view gaming and exercising. The Wii has many different games, ranging from Nintendo-like games to sports and fitness programs. The biggest reason for the Wii's popularity is that it is the most interactive gaming system out there. With a Wii, you don't just press buttons on a controller; you actually have to move, in order to make your player move! Right now, the most popular Wii program is the Wii fit. This one is not the cheapest one they have, but it is the one that offers the most exercise. With the Wii fit, you are able to create an exercise routine for yourself out of the different exercises they have, and get fit right in your living room, while playing on your Wii.
In today's society, where kids are eating more and moving less, the Wii fit program is designed to get kids off the couch to exercise while still having fun. Is it really working though? Or are they more interested in the other, more inactive games that Wii has to offer?
Fun has always been the biggest motivator for kids, but unfortunately, coming up with fun things to do with our kids is sometimes hard for parents. What we tend to forget is that kids love quality time with their parents! Sometimes it doesn't matter what the activity is, as long as you are doing it together. When your children grow up, they don't remember how clean the house was, or how much money you spent on them; they remember the times you spent together – the memories you made. The Wii fit provides a great opportunity to make a few lasting memories with your kids, while getting all of you in better shape.
The Wii fit does work to get your kids off the couch and exercising, but when the novelty wears off and your children get bored with it, back on the couch they will go. However, if parents take some time every day (or at least 3 – 4 times a week) and use the Wii fit as a fun activity to do with their kids, it will work, and their kids will be much more likely to stick with it and not get bored. This will also help to develop good habits and practices in your children – something that every parent wants to pass onto their kids. Helping your children exercise with the Wii fit can help you to teach them more about the importance of exercise, such as what it does for your heart, lungs, mind, etc.
Good memories last forever, and parents, you can use the Wii fit to create fun memories with your kids. If you are frustrated with the lack of motivation in your children, and irritated with the way they laze around on the couch, try offering them more motivation. For example, you can play their favorite Wii game with them after they have exercised with you on the Wii fit. |
